Albert Rodionov was only 25 years old.

Unfortunately, tragic news from the world of boxing appears much more frequently than we would like. More recently, he drew attention to an incident in the city of Pervouralsk, where a 14-year-old athlete died after missing several shots in a competition.

Now sad news is coming from the Krasnodar region, where 25-year-old Russian boxer Albert Rodionov died in a traffic accident.

“He wasn’t even 30 years old… Albert left behind a wife and a seven-year-old daughter. The athlete’s funeral will take place on December 24 in the city of Volzhsky. The Russian Boxing Federation offers its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of our athlete. The entire boxing world is mourning you. The Federation will cover all expenses and help the boxer’s family! Take care of yourselves and your loved ones, friends,” says the message from the General Secretary of the Russian Boxing Federation.

Albert was very young, he was only 25 years old. According to the report of the traffic police of the Krasnodar region, everything happened at night on the Krasnodar – Yeisk highway. Rodionov crashed into a parapet fence, as a result of which the car caught fire and the driver died at the scene from his injuries before the ambulance arrived.

At the age of six, Rodionov moved from Volgograd to the city of Volzhsky, where he began boxing at the age of nine, and five years later he joined the national team. Albert was definitely talented, he became champion of Russia three times and won the European Youth Championship, took second place at the Eurasian Games and participated in many other national and international competitions. For a 25-year-old wrestler, this is pretty good experience with which one could advance toward a professional career.

Rodionov also managed to fight two fights in the Hardcore and Nomad FC tournaments. It is noted that Albert dreamed of opening a gym in the future where he could train a new generation of Russian boxers.

Adding to the tragedy of the incident was the fact that during the day Rodionov buried his mother and, upon returning home, he himself died. This has already been confirmed by the family of the deceased athlete.

I hope we see as little news of this type as possible, in principle without reference to any sport. Take care of yourself.
