According to the Club’s official website, the transaction amounted to more than $1.5 billion. For this money, Ratcliffe’s Trawlers Limited received 25 per cent of the Class B shares and also reached an agreement to purchase another 25 per cent of the Class A shares.

Ratcliffe is reported to be investing around £300 million in Manchester United’s stadium infrastructure. Chemical giant Ineos, owned by Ratcliffe, will reportedly manage the club’s football operations.

Previously, Manchester United was owned by Americans Avram and Joel Glazer; In 2005 they acquired the club for 1.34 billion dollars.
