After a long time, Madison Keys posted an engagement photo with Bjorn Fratangelo. She wants more to be said about her romance.

The twelfth racket in the world and 2017 US Open finalist, Madison Keys, had a fairly successful 2023 season. The American tennis player won the Eastbourne tournament and reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon and the semifinals of the US Open. As the season progressed, Madison returned to the top 10 of the WTA rankings for the first time since August 2019. The 28-year-old athlete finished the year outside the top ten, but can still be proud of the result achieved.

An important role in Keys’ success on the court is played by her lover and part-time coach, 30-year-old American tennis player Bjorn Fratangelo. Bjorn doesn’t have enough stars in the sky compared to Madison. He is currently number 698 in the world, and peaked in 2016, when he briefly broke into the top 100 of the ATP rankings. However, he is definitely capable of helping a tennis player in training.

Keys and Fratangelo began dating in 2017. The couple has been engaged since March 2023. Madison shared photos from the memorable event just nine months later.

Two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka joked about the fact that Madison waited so long to post the photo.

“It only took how many years? Beautiful images,” Azarenka wrote, adding a laughing emoji.

In fact, there is a logical explanation for the delay in the release of Madison and Bjorn’s engagement photos. Keys and Fratangelo have their hands full on the court. Madison is a star on the WTA circuit and participates in all major competitions, including Grand Slam tournaments. Bjorn now mainly goes to Challengers and in his free time he trains Keys.

Fratangelo has always opposed active publicity of his personal life. He insisted that Keys not write about her relationship too often. Although Madison wanted the opposite. In the summer, the tennis world was stunned by the romance of two-time TBS finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas and former world No. 2 racket player Paula Badosa. The Greek and the Spanish woman periodically published joint photographs on social networks, even creating a special account for this called “Tsitsidosa”.

Keys admired Stefanos and Paula’s candor. Madison admitted that she really misses the same romance they have.

“Tsitsipas and Badosa publish content in a much more organized way than Bjorn and I. In a short time, they posted many more romantic photos than we did in six years. So to be honest, I envy Stefanos and Paula in a good way. I hope we are like Tsitsipas and Badosa. Although so far Bjorn and I have practically no photographs together, and for them publishing photographs is not a problem. It’s great,” Keys told Tennis Channel in July 2023.

There are quite a few pairings between current ATP and WTA players. Elina Svitolina and Gaël Monfils, Alexander Shevchenko and Anastasia Potapova. Denis Shapovalov and Mirjam Bjorklund, Alex de Miñaur and Katie Boulter are the main ones, not counting Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, as well as Bjorn Fratangelo and Madison Keys.
