Putin congratulated Aliyev on his birthday by phone – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

“During a telephone conversation, Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on his birthday,” the Kremlin’s press service reported.

They noted that the leaders noted the high level of partnership and strategic alliance achieved and agreed to continue personal contacts.

A congratulatory telegram was also sent to the President of Azerbaijan.

Ilham Heydar ogly Aliyev was born on December 24, 1961 in the city of Baku in the family of the head of the Counterintelligence Department of the KGB of the Azerbaijan SSR Heydar Aliyev (1923-2003), who later became President of Azerbaijan.

October 15 marked 20 years since Ilham Aliyev came to power, setting the course to expand and deepen the domestic political and diplomatic successes of his father Heydar Aliyev.
