Coke-Pepsi are the two soft drink companies currently facing boycotts in Muslim-majority countries. The two companies are losing business to local soft drinks because of the Gaza war. In a report, the UK news agency Reuters reported this information.

According to the report, the two institutions are facing extreme challenges in Muslim majority countries including Pakistan. In Egypt, their local soft drink brand Viseven has tripled its business in the Middle East and other regions this year compared to last year. Where business has declined is Coca Cola.

Meanwhile, Coke faced outrage by creating an ad in Bangladesh amid criticism over whether the two soft drink companies were financing it in Israel. It also affects the market. Due to which the company is forced to withdraw the advertisement.

According to data from Coca-Cola HBC, Coke sales in Egypt fell significantly for the six months ended June 28. But sales were up as of this time last year. On the other hand, the same situation exists for both the companies in Pakistan. Domestic soft drinks are being used in all occasions starting from weddings.
