In Krasnoyarsk, after the death of a woman and her daughter in a fire, a case was opened – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Law enforcement officers see in the incident signs of a crime provided for in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – causing death by negligence, the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia clarified.

On Sunday afternoon, a fire broke out in a multi-story dormitory building on Klyuchevskaya Street. At 4:30 p.m. local time a report was received that the body of a woman was found while the fire was being extinguished. A seven-year-old girl, found in serious condition, later died in an ambulance.

According to preliminary information, the fire was located in one of the rooms on the eighth floor, where the man lived. He was transferred to the investigation department to clarify the circumstances of the incident. It is known that his wife and her daughter rented the room next door.

Experts consider several versions about the cause of the fire. The main ones are a short circuit in electrical wiring and careless handling of fire by a person while smoking. Forensic examinations have been ordered.

The regional prosecutor’s office added that during the emergency the ground fire alarm did not work. Department officials began an investigation.
