Former Moscow prosecutor Yuri Semin dies – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

According to him, the cause of Semin’s death was a massive heart attack.

Yuri Semin headed the capital’s prosecutor’s office in 2006-2011 and then was head of the anti-corruption department of the Prosecutor General’s Office. In the early 2000s, Semin was the state prosecutor in the case of Bitsevsky maniac Alexander Pichushkin.

Semin was an honorary lawyer of the Russian Federation and an honorary employee of the prosecutor’s office. He was awarded the distinction “For fidelity to the law”, 1st degree and “For impeccable service”.
