According to international media reports, the helicopter carrying Raisi has not been found yet due to bad weather. Besides, it is not possible to know whether the president of Iran and other officials in it are safe or not.

Citing local Iranian media, Al Jazeera and other media outlets say that besides Raisi, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdullahian, Governor of East Azerbaijan Malek Rahmati and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Al-Hashem, the spokesman of Iran’s supreme leader in that province, were in the helicopter.

They were reportedly on their way to Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan province, after inaugurating a reservoir project in Azerbaijan.

Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported that the helicopter had crashed in an emergency phone call. The call is believed to have been made by one of the officials accompanying the President.

Iran’s Interior Minister Amir Vahidi also said on state television,

Contact was established with that helicopter. But within words the connection is severed.

Meanwhile, citing an Iranian official, the news agency Reuters says that the lives of Raisi and Hossein Amirabdullahian are feared to be in danger in this accident.

The official said on condition of anonymity.

The lives of the President and the Foreign Minister are in danger after the helicopter crash. We are still optimistic. However, the information coming from the accident site is very worrying.

The media Al Jazeera reported in a report that the rescue work is being disrupted due to the inclement weather. The rescue team was unable to contact anyone on board the helicopter. 8 ambulances have been kept ready at the spot. Besides, the area is being monitored by drones. 40 rescue teams have been deployed to search for the missing helicopter.
