The legendary TV presenter Yuri Nikolaev is preparing for his 75th birthday: he held a creative meeting and wrote a book. You can see the hero of the day live on his birthday on December 16 on Channel One in the Buenos Días program. And Yuri Nikolaev’s book “Everything is fair here” has already gone on sale.

The presenter of “Morning Mail”, the author and presenter of “Morning Star” and many other television programs, popular artist Yuri Nikolaev, held a creative meeting and book presentation. We attended a meeting with Yuri Alexandrovich. Nikolaev said he was honest in the book: “I don’t want you to see me white and fluffy, everything has happened in life… And I loved being hungover… Until I was taken off the air for six months in 1978 – then I was mine during those six months I took several texts to my colleagues…”

In the book, Yuri Nikolaev describes his struggle with addiction: “In addition to the multitude of fans, alcohol became a much bigger problem for me. As soon as you entered any restaurant, any company, you immediately heard: “Yura, let’s have a drink!” Very quickly, those favors became a bad habit. My wife found me through friends and brought me home drunk, she was terribly worried and crying. Every time she sobered up, she reproached me for crying, but she couldn’t help it… My wife accompanied me to the narcologist, but he just threw up his hands: until the patient himself decided to “quit it.” nothing will change. We tried all treatment methods, I spent a lot of time in clinics. During my drunken binges, Eleanor would take out the hospital bulletins to cover me at work. I tried to captivate myself with something, to stuff me with food, but I didn’t feel like eating anything… Also, people, unfortunately, who seemed to want the best, sometimes did unpleasant things. For example, Eleanor took me to the clinic to take glucose. I sat, unsuspecting, next to the office while the reception took place. When I came out I realized he was drunk. I thought, “Well, that’s it, I’m probably crazy already…” But in fact, the nurses served me alcohol. Only on the third day did my wife realize this and disperse the entire treatment room.”

Yuri Alexandrovich was suspended from work once, when he also allowed himself to drink not after, but before the broadcast. Nikolaev drank on Friday night before the live broadcast and was suspended for six months. During this time, hundreds of letters arrived with questions about where Nikolaev disappeared (there was no Internet then). Six months later he was returned. Since then, after 1978, Nikolaev has had no problems with alcohol. Yuri Alexandrovich, by force of will, refused to abuse alcohol.

Yuri Nikolaev’s book is not only interesting and honest stories about life and work, but also a collection of experiences for those who today dream of becoming a star.

In a creative meeting, the People’s Artist said that he does not rule out the return to the air of the updated version of “Morning Star”. In Moscow there is a singing and music academy created by Yuri Nikolaev for children who dream of performing on stage.
