Among the participants of the forum were activists from self-government bodies, student associations and councils of young scientists. The forum was held with the support of a grant from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs “Rosmolodezh” within the framework of the All-Russian Competition for Youth Projects.
The Forum was attended by 90 full-time students and about 800 distance students from 34 universities located in 16 regions of the Russian Federation.
“The student stage is the most golden time, when young people dedicate time not only to acquiring knowledge, but also to various joint activities. And the “Formato Sur” forum made it possible to unite all student communities, the entire youth environment, to develop in them project skills, leadership qualities and the ability to work in a team,” said Vladimir Gurba, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Conflict Studies and National Security, at the opening of the forum.
And Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Youth Programs Yakov Aslanov highlighted the important role of the university in human life.
“Historically, Rostov-on-Don can and should gather around itself active and talented students. And the university has been developing a modern system of student self-government for more than 10 years. Its important feature is responsibility. Whatever direction it Take it, be it the student council or student sports club, volunteer centers – behind you are the students whose interests they have entrusted you to represent. You are part of your university and for the rest of your life you will communicate with the team that you are forming now,” said Yakov Aslanov.
The plenary lecture of the forum, delivered by the chairman of the Youth Policy Committee of the Rostov region, Alexander Nikitochkin, was dedicated to youth policy and educational activities in modern Russia.

Three platforms were also presented at the forum. In the first of them, entitled “The Third Mission of the University: Points of Integration and Implementation”, the experts discussed the activities and interaction of student governing bodies, attracting students to productive extracurricular activities in the context of the concept of “third mission.” ” of the University.
At the second meeting, “Youth and Science”, representatives of student scientific societies and councils of young scientists discussed the forms of youth participation in research activities, the role of the student government in the development of this area and the issues of the development of scientific volunteering.
At the third site, “Student Associations,” participants enjoyed educational events aimed at developing project skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to work as a team. An addition to the program was the development of project initiatives in an intensive format.
On the second day of the forum, participants participated in a project problem-solving session. At the end of the session, participants defended their design solutions before expert commissions, who were able to complement the content of their developments with methodological recommendations and advice for improving practices.
