The stone is the consolation prize of the Christmas Lottery. For the first time in history, the 1,000 euros in the series will not reach the amount of the minimum interprofessional salary, set at 1,080 euros.

The famous “miiiil eeeuros” that accompany the Christmas Lottery have always been a kind of consolation for the less fortunate. These 1,000 euros from stone work have usually exceeded the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI) in Spain, until this year.

Since 2018, the minimum wage in Spain has experienced a significant increase. From the 735.9 euros in 14 payments of that year we have gone to the current 1,080 euros in 2023, also distributed in 14 payments. With this latest increase, the stone remains below the SMI.

The rise of the SMI in 2024

This gap between the stone and the SMI will continue to widen with the increase in the SMI in 2024, which is still being negotiated.

The last proposal that is on the table is a 4% increase that would take the figure to 1,123 euros per table in 14 payments or 15,722 euros per year.

One thousand euros per series, 100 per tenth

Even if we hear the children of San Ildefonso sing 1,000 euros, that is the amount assigned to the series, which translates into 100 euros for every tenth prize.

These types of prizes are the most numerous after the refund. In total, the pedrea is made up of 1,794 numbers for the tenths that coincide with the first three of the first, second, third and fourth prize. The tenths that share the last two figures or completion of the three big prizes of the Christmas Lottery will also win the prize.

Where can you collect the stone?

The 100 euros per tenth of the stone can be collected at any Christmas Lottery administration by presenting the full ticket. Only prizes worth more than 2,000 euros must be collected from financial institutions authorized by State Lotteries and Betting.

In addition, the stone is part of the Christmas Lottery prizes that do not pay taxes, so you can fully enjoy those 100 euros.

Remember that you can use our ticket search engine to check if yours is among the winners.
