The largest union strike in the country’s history will take place in the Czech Republic on November 27 – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

According to him, around one million employees from hundreds of companies and firms, as well as 70% of primary and secondary school staff, intend to participate in the action.

“The goal of the strike is to force the government of the republic to reflect on what is happening in society,” RIA Novosti quotes Strshedulu. If ministers try to ignore the strike, “the mood in society may worsen even further,” emphasized the leader of the country’s largest trade union association.

He added that it would be better for everyone if such actions were not necessary. However, people are outraged and believe that the authorities do not listen to them, so hundreds of thousands of workers are willing to support the protest.

It is noted that the main indignation of the unions is the government package of measures to improve state finances, recently approved by parliament and signed by the president. It includes a reduction in government subsidies, the abolition of a number of tax benefits, an increase in VAT on a number of goods and services, changes in pension payment conditions and other tough measures. Trade unions are confident that these reforms will lead to an increase in inflation, have a negative impact on economic growth and reduce the standard of living of citizens.
