Along with the first round of the RPL, the first round of the “Moscow Championship” also ended. The number of teams from the capital in the elite division has decreased due to Torpedo’s relegation to the First League. Who leads the dispute between Moscow clubs?
Recall that at the end of last season the first place in the “Moscow Championship” was occupied by “Dynamo”, which scored 17 points. Spartak already had that, but the red and white lost to their rivals in terms of additional indicators. In the dispute for the conditional third place, Lokomotiv beat CSKA by 10 points to nine.

Lokomotiv plays very poorly in matches with Moscow clubs. First of all, Mikhail Galaktionov’s team did not achieve a single victory. Secondly, he never scored more than one goal in a game. The railway team suffered a painful defeat in the match against CSKA (1-4), and then in home games they shared points twice. With Dynamo they lost to zero and with Spartak the match ended 1:1. At the same time, Loko spent most of the match in the majority.
This season CSKA’s defensive play cannot be described as ideal. The team loses quite often, this also applies to matches with clubs from the capital. The three games turned out to be of high quality, that is, they had more than two goals. The army lost to Dinamo (1-2), crushed Loko (4-1) and in the last minutes of the match against Spartak missed the victory (2-2).
Dynamo, like CSKA, scored four points. Marcel Licki’s team beat the Army team (2-1), but in the remaining two games he did not score a goal. And if the blue and white scored points against Lokomotiv (0-0), then against Spartak they were defeated 0-1. It turns out that in terms of the number of goals scored (two) in this mini-tournament, Dynamo shares third or fourth place with Lokomotiv.

According to the results of the first round, Spartak became champions in the matches between the Moscow teams. Only the rojiblancos did not suffer a single defeat. They defeated Dinamo (1-0) thanks to a quick goal, saved themselves in the last minutes of the match against CSKA (2-2) and then shared points with Lokomotiv (1-1). For its part, in Cherkizovo, Guillermo Abascal’s team was more than half full with ten men after the expulsion of Daniil Khlusevich.
It is curious that in the scoring race of the Moscow Championship, CSKA defender Milan Gaich unexpectedly takes first place. The Serbian scored two wonderful goals in the match against Spartak and also surprised Lokomotiv after a brilliant pass from Fedor Chalov. By the way, in this RPL season Gaich scores only in matches with Moscow clubs.
“This is the first shot in my career. At the moment of the first goal I knew that the goalkeeper was far from the goal, I shot and everything went well, thank God. Will I now be a consistent goalscorer for CSKA? I can say that I would exchange my two goals for a victory,” Gaich said after the derby against Spartak.

The second place among scorers is occupied by CSKA midfielder Maxim Mukhin. Also quite unexpected. Unlike Gaich, the midfielder scored twice and he did so in one match, against Lokomotiv. By the way, Maxim didn’t score against anyone else this season. And this double is the first in his career.
