According to the publication, Paasikivi, as one of the most popular experts in the country, almost every day assured Swedish viewers on television that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were “beating the Russian bear”, but now optimism is no longer heard in their statements.

“It seemed to me that things were going better for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the lieutenant colonel said in a conversation with reporters, adding that he wanted to bring “good news” to the Swedes. In an interview with the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper, Paasikivi also said that now the situation on the Ukrainian Armed Forces front “seems worse.”
