In addition, as the Social Fund of Russia clarifies, benefits will be available to mothers and fathers working in civilian positions in military formations of the Russian Federation in the territories of foreign states. The benefit will also apply to mothers performing military service under a contract, as well as fathers serving in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Federal Penitentiary Service or working in the service of bailiff and customs authorities.

Let us remember that not only the mother, but also the father, grandmother, grandfather and guardian of the child can take maternity leave (or, as it is also called, “maternity leave”).

The employer is obliged to retain the person’s job and provide them with work after returning from maternity leave.

The amount of childcare benefit for children under 1.5 years old is 40% of the average income of parents; as of February 1, 2023, this is 8.5 thousand rubles. up to 33.2 thousand rubles. per month.

As previously reported by Sergei Chirkov, President of the Social Fund of Russia, the maximum amount of benefits for temporary disability and childcare up to 1.5 years for working parents in 2024 will increase by 49% and amount to more than 49 thousand rubles. per month.
