It would be fair to say that this award is shared with Maxim by the heroes of his publications. And among them are the former “Aquarium” musician Andrei “Ryusha” Reshetin, the violinist Marianna Vasilyeva and the actor and now also Minister of Culture of North Ossetia-Alania, Soslan Fidarov. And many other heroes of our days, who equated a feather or a bow with a bayonet and were not afraid to go to the front of the war for their, our Fatherland. The Astafiev Prize can also be considered a thank you to all of them.

In 2023, the contest registered a record number of participants: 1,010 works, not counting the applications submitted through the literary magazine Día y Noche.
