RBC: Astellas has decided to stop the production of the antibiotic vilprafen in Russia – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

According to the agency, citing public sources, in the second half of December pharmacies almost completely sold out of these medications.

The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, RBC clarifies, believes that they can be replaced with drugs with the international non-proprietary names azithromycin and clarithromycin.

Vilprafen is used to treat bacterial infections. In particular, it is prescribed for diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract, as well as the ENT organs. Additionally, the drug is used in dentistry, ophthalmology and dermatology.
