Putin called it a sacred duty to evacuate Russians from Gaza and help people – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The Head of State called for the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip, where the situation has been critical for some time. Putin stressed that it is necessary to help those who suffer from current events. “It is our sacred duty to help, especially our citizens,” the president said.

The Head of State said that more than 900 people came to Russia to request evacuation from the conflict zone. Of them, 639 are citizens of the Russian Federation and another 271 people are their relatives.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, informed the president that 484 Russians and 87 relatives with citizenship of other states crossed the Rafah checkpoint. Six special flights of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations have already brought 553 people, 259 of them children, to Domodedovo airport.

Putin also asked the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations about the delivery of Russian humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and whether additional government support was needed. The minister assured that help is arriving and everything is going well.
