The publication recalls that the state governor, Phil Murphy, signed this law after the start of a special military operation, which prohibits New Jersey authorities from entering into contracts with companies that maintain ties with Russia and Belarus. The law limited the granting of subsidies to such companies and the investment in them of funds from the state pension fund.

However, in the summer, New Jersey voluntarily suspended enforcement of the law, TASS reports. This comes after the US division of Japanese company Kyocer, which was slated to be blacklisted, won a lawsuit. The Federal Court prohibited imposing restrictions on the company during the process.

Representatives of this company claim that state authorities have exceeded their powers and are trying to regulate foreign trade, as well as interfere in the work of the US federal government, which is responsible for imposing sanctions against Russia.

Politico adds that New Jersey authorities have suspended enforcement of the law because the court’s decision could apply to other companies.
