Children learned from representatives of educational institutions about the advantages of receiving higher education in the Far East.

Olga Rebkovets, rector of Kamchatka State University Vitus Bering, noted that both humanitarian and technical education can be received there. For example, become a specialist in ecology, biology and geophysics. This type of personnel is in great demand in Kamchatka.

“Geophysics with a profile of volcanology and seismology. Where else to study volcanoes if not in Kamchatka? This, it seems to me, is logical and natural. And our students not only master some of the disciplines in the classroom, but fly to volcanoes and, together with scientists, install new seismological stations, service them and monitor seismic conditions,” shared Olga Rebkovets.

Northeastern Federal University named after MK Ammosov presented the largest region of the Far East – the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Ivan Troev, senior researcher at the university’s medical biotechnology laboratory, introduced the schoolchildren to the structure of the university, which includes 12 institutes, five faculties, two higher schools, more than 40 research laboratories, as well as branches in Russia and offices of representation abroad.

The forum participants also learned about the most famous higher school in the Far East – the Far Eastern Federal University, which is located on Russky Island in Vladivostok.

“This is a unique university that makes it possible to master new professions that are very necessary for Russia today: the development of technological companies, import substitution, space exploration, biotechnology, bioengineering,” says Alexandra Semakina, a graduate of FEFU and IT entrepreneur from Primorye.

In his speech, he focused on the opportunity that students have to present as a thesis a real project that is highly requested in the business field. This type of work is welcome, as new practical solutions are needed in many areas.

The presentations were appreciated by both the schoolchildren and their companions. Many guys were really interested in Far Eastern universities. This is how Ksenia Ponkratova, a schoolgirl from Kaluga, drew attention to NEFU. The girl is interested in advertising and design.

“I will probably consider it for admission. After all, today Yakutia is one of the centers of the IT industry in Russia, and there they offer work after training, you can do internships and gain the necessary work experience,” says Ksenia.

Forum participants were also invited to try to complete the mission. For correct answers to questions about universities, they were able to receive branded portable chargers as a gift.
