Lyusya Chebotina: “My mother controls my finances”

The name Lucy Chebotina is always heard: the 26-year-old singer of the hit “The Sun of Monaco” has already become one of the most popular singers. And, as a result, one of the highest paid. Last year, Lucy spent more than 16 million rubles on her 25th birthday party, inviting her colleagues from show business.

Last September, the artist gave herself an expensive gift: she bought an emerald Mercedes-Benz G-Class worth 20 million rubles. Even earlier, Lucy admitted that she had become the owner of an apartment in Dubai. It is true that she bought the property “not for life”, but as an investment.

With an expense of such magnitude, Chebotina’s income should amount to hundreds of millions of rubles. Lucy herself, however, says that she…she doesn’t even know how much she earns. On Hifi-streaming Sound’s “Nothing Sacred” podcast, the singer said that she doesn’t take care of her own finances, but rather her mother does it for her.

– My finances are controlled by my mother, my director. For example, at times I don’t even know how much I earn. Because at some point it can leave you speechless. All economic and fiscal matters are the responsibility of the mother,” Chebotina admitted.

At the same time, Lucy says that fame and large amounts of money did not affect her attitude towards life. After all, recently, when she was a student, she had to work part-time between classes. Her family was never rich, so the girl had to make her way in life alone.

– I remember very well how I worked at karaoke at night, I remember very well how my mother and sister worked. I remember how difficult it was to earn fifteen hundred rubles, and it was really good money. I remember the sleepless nights at karaoke, when I would sing the backing lines and return home at six in the morning or even go to class. I always leave very good advice to the waiters, gas attendants and other people who help me. I feel uncomfortable when someone close to me communicates with the service staff in a rude and impolite manner. “I always address you as “you,” I always say “thank you” and “please,” Chebotina says.

Lyusya was born in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, her parents divorced when the girl was still very young. When she was five years old, her mother moved to Moscow. It was not easy for her mother, as she was left alone with two children in the capital. According to Chebotina, they sometimes literally had to survive on the small amount of alimony her father paid. Therefore, Lucy dreamed of growing up as quickly as possible and starting to earn money herself so she could buy everything she wanted.
