An unusual match took place in Dagestan, and specifically in Kaspiysk. The FNL and Medialiga teams faced each other according to unusual rules in professional football.

For Media League fans the format was familiar, but for the rest we have to talk about some “tricks”.

The teams played two halves of 30 minutes of net time. During breaks, the stopwatch was paused. Once the net time had elapsed, the half (or the match) ended only in case of offside, as well as in case the ball crossed the goal line (corners do not count) or the touch line. Coaches were given the opportunity to make an unlimited number of substitutions, including reverse ones. The teams had the opportunity to put the red ball into play for three minutes. Each goal with this ball was equivalent to two. The main referee ran around the field with a microphone, so that viewers periodically heard his conversations with the players. Each team had the opportunity to request a challenge once per half in case of a controversial refereeing decision: in case of expulsion, the player left the field, but another player could be released in his place.

The composition of the FNL team was chosen by the fans. They voted on social media for who they wanted to see in what positions. Evgeniy Kaleshin was appointed head coach of this team. It turned out to be somewhat absurd, because a few days ago he was fired from Akron. It turns out that the FNL team was led by a coach who does not currently work in this league. Before the match, Evgeniy Igorevich briefly prepared the team for the match: “The enemy will be defeated. Victory will be ours.”

By the way, Kaleshin cheated a little. Before the match he said that he would not make an unlimited number of substitutions, but would give half to all players. But already at the beginning of the match he changed players more frequently than the Media League team. The match was even attended by Kurban Berdyev, who now works for Dynamo Makhachkala. The experienced coach watched the match from the stands of the Anji Arena. The captain of the Media League team was Dmitry Tarasov. The same one who took the RPL gold with Lokomotiv.

The first minutes were very successful for the FNL team. Anton Sosnin (former Dynamo and Krylya Sovetov footballer) unsuccessfully handled the ball in his own goal and gave it to the opponent. The FNL team punished immediately and the final blow was dealt by Serder Serderov. After a start like that, it seemed like we were guaranteed fun.

A few minutes later a fight broke out on the field. FNL national team footballer Shamil Saaduev put his hand on Mushvig Rzayev’s neck. Apparently, the latter said something to his opponent behind his back and caused a skirmish. Referee Yuriy Aponasenko quickly resolved everything and showed each player a yellow card.

At times he was very comical on the field. So, during the game, the Media League team had two players with number 25 on the field at once: Ilya Davydov and Georgy Batyaev. At the same time, the organizers maintained an alternative score. Teams received points for a variety of actions. For example, two points were awarded for a shot on goal from outside the area. Points could be awarded for a beautiful goal celebration, several precise passes in a row and all kinds of technical tricks, such as throwing the ball between the opponent’s legs.

At the end of the first half, Said Aliyev, a player from the FNL national team, headbutted his opponent. The referee looked at the replay to see if there was a red card, but considered that the player’s actions did not warrant a sending off. It is curious that at that time the replay was watched by representatives of both teams, who actively put pressure on the referee and reminded him of the decisions he had made in the past.

In November, the Media League club played with the RPL club:

In the second part there was another controversial topic related to refereeing. Aponasenko awarded a penalty after FNL player Alexander Gagloev fell. However, the referee changed his decision after watching the replay. Time and time again it seemed that there really weren’t many Gagloevs. “drawing.” Immediately afterwards, Alan Bagaev (FNL player) collided with Alan Gatagov, who joined the coaching staff of the Media League team. The moment came when the former Lokomotiv player’s glasses fell off. Before this, by the way, Bagaev had a bite with Pavel Deobald. As a result, the FNL footballer received a yellow card.

A few minutes later, Aponasenko again pointed out the “point”, this time after the fall of Akron footballer Abu-Said Eldarushev. And then everything follows the usual scenario. The referee runs back to the monitor and changes the decision again. In his opinion, Eldarushev embellished the moment.

And then the FNL team reinforced its advantage. And Eldar Nizamutdinov, 42, did it. He ran down the left wing and sent the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs. Immediately afterwards, the FNL team took the field in full force and congratulated the veteran. Kaleshin was also excited on the sidelines. By the way, for the beautiful goal celebration, the FNL team received four points on the alternative scoreboard.

In the end, the FNL team played openly with the rival. The defenders of the Medialiga team simply watched the game and hoped that the ball would not enter the goal again. But instead, Nizamutdinov scored a double. This time, the 42-year-old striker was the first to shoot and put the ball into the net from a meter away. After the goal, teammates began pumping the veteran and throwing him into the air.

But the nominal owners were not going to stop. Dmitry Shadrintsev shot hard into the near corner and the Media League team’s goalkeeper Ivan Zirikov pushed the ball over the goal line.

At the end we saw a red ball (it was brought to the game by the players of the Media League team). It is true that no one ever scored with this ball. The FNL team calmly faced the opponent, who in the end looked really bad. By the way, the alternative score (taking into account the challenges during the game) is 24:17 in favor of the team from the “best league in the world”. Eventually, the teams settled things in a penalty shootout. And again the FNL team players won 3:2.
