The honorary right to open the Hero’s Desk was awarded to the mother of the deceased, Elena Vladimirovna, and the head of the regional headquarters of the Youth Army and the department of military-patriotic education of the military commissariat of the Rostov region, Lieutenant Colonel Nikolai Ponomarenko. .

Marine Igor Torba has been serving in Sevastopol since 2017. He studied in the army to become a driver-mechanic of armored personnel carriers (APC). With the unit he went to the zone of special military operations.

He died in the battles for Mariupol while driving a combat vehicle. An enemy bullet ended his life on April 22, 2022. On December 12, 2023, he would have turned 26 years old. The hero of the Northern Military District was buried with military honors on the Promenade of Glory of the Novoshakhtinsk city cemetery.
