In Komi, the mayor’s office will pay the owner of the car damaged by stray dogs – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The incident occurred in early August of this year. The owner of the car left it in the parking lot. At night, the car was attacked by a pack of stray dogs. The video camera recorded this. As a result, the car suffered mechanical damage to the left and right wheel arches in the form of multiple small dents along the entire radius of the wheel arches with damage to the paintwork and the front bumper on both sides.

The cost of damage, according to the defective declaration, amounted to 62.2 thousand rubles. The mayor’s office reported that a month earlier it had entered into a municipal contract with the businessman for the provision of treatment services for stray animals. However, as noted in court, the conclusion of a contract does not exempt local governments from the obligation to control its implementation and ensure the sanitary and epidemiological safety of citizens.

Therefore, the court decision satisfied the claims. The department of housing and communal services of the administration of the Sosnogorsk municipal district fully recovered material damage in favor of the owner of the vehicle. The decision has not yet entered into legal force.
