The head of the ministry, Mansukh Mandaviya, ordered an “immediate review of public health measures and the readiness of medical infrastructure.” During the inspection, they will monitor the availability of hospital beds, flu vaccines and medications, protective equipment, the volume of medical oxygen, antibiotics, the operation of ventilators and infection control in medical institutions.

The Indian Ministry of Health urged the population to remain calm, as the measures are preventive in nature.

In October, China recorded an increase in the incidence of respiratory diseases due to the lifting of anti-Covid restrictions, as well as high activity of influenza, mycoplasma pneumonia and the COVID-19 virus itself.

The Indian government said it is closely monitoring the outbreak in China. The country is prepared to face any health emergency.
