The exhibition of the Tomsk region “Emerald Heart of Siberia” is based on the plot of the fairy tales of Alexander Volkov (a graduate of the Tomsk Teachers’ Institute). The organizers divided it into three zones: “Courage” (innovative technologies), “Mind” (science) and “Heart” (medicine). A new documentary and feature film produced by Omsk residents sparked great interest among forum guests. The film is dedicated to the father of astronautics, Sergei Korolev. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the future rocket scientist worked at a plant evacuated to Omsk. Now this is the famous “Polet”, where the production of missiles of the Angara family is concentrated.

As part of the business program of the forum, a meeting was held between the governor of the Omsk region Vitaly Jotsenko and the head of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov.

The business schedule of Omsk residents in the VDNKh also turned out to be very busy. A meeting was held between regional leaders and the Vice President of the Russian Government, Marat Khusnullin. One of the important issues was raised: the program for modernizing public service infrastructure systems for the next five years.

The Fund for Support and Development of Environmental Initiatives has become a business partner of the Omsk region. One of the projects that will be implemented jointly is the conversion of a large thermal power plant from coal to gas.

Within the framework of another agreement, the opening of new commercial establishments with social orientation is planned. There is the intention to build a large sports and recreational complex with two ice rinks, a swimming pool and multipurpose rooms in a public-private collaboration regime.

Omsk residents also shared with the VDNKh guests their successful experience in organizing women’s entrepreneurship, also in the Donetsk People’s Republic. A round table was held on the investment attractiveness of the region, in which residents of Omsk, students of prestigious universities of the capital took part. With their participation, the authorities hope to create the conditions for young people to return to the region after studying.

Within the framework of the Siberia Day business agenda at the VDNKh, a joint meeting of the Council of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District and the mass Council of the “Siberian Agreement” was held. Under the chairmanship of the presidential plenipotentiary representative Anatoly Seryshev, the governors of the Siberian regions discussed the strategic plan for the development of the federal district. In particular, they discussed the implementation of projects that would remove transportation and infrastructure restrictions. By 2035, Siberians aim to attract about 350 billion rubles of extra-budgetary investments to new projects and create more than 12 thousand new jobs.
