We are entering magical dates. Christmas is coming and under its arm it brings the traditional Lottery draw on December 22, when a drum from the Teatro Real in Madrid concentrates the hopes and dreams of millions of Spaniards. If we could extract all of them, we would find wishes of all sizes and colors, but statistically one of the most repeated would be the purchase of a new car, something possible thanks to the 50,000 euros per tenth that the third prize awards.

Without a doubt, winning the lottery is a valuable opportunity to make your dreams come true and, why not, renew your garage. The lucky ones who manage to reach this point will find themselves with a dilemma: continue with the combustion engine or opt for the electric car. And with the announced death of the first, there will be many who take advantage of this award to take the step to the new mobility…

This transition becomes more enjoyable if you take into account the tax advantages that the Government grants to encourage the purchase of electric cars. Since, since last June, anyone who decides to purchase a single new electric vehicle (not applicable to subsequent purchases) will enjoy a deduction of 15% of the purchase price of the car on a maximum base of 20,000 euros.

In practice, the vast majority of electric cars on the market exceed that figure, so we are talking about a deduction of 3,000 euros. In order to benefit from this deduction, which will be applied in the year in which the vehicle is registered, payment must be made before the end of 2024. In addition, the advantages offered by the Moves Plan will have to be deducted from the price of the vehicle. . III, which the Government has extended until July 31 and which includes aid of up to 7,000 euros for the purchase of electric cars. However, to be eligible to benefit from them, the vehicle must have a price of, at most, 45,000 euros before taxes.

Taking into account these tax advantages and assuming that the reader of this article has been one of the lucky ones in the draw, at least, with a third prize worth 48,000 euros for the tenth – already deducting the import collected by the Treasury -, we are going to give a Go back through the catalog to study which are the best options on the electric car market with this budget, which can benefit from the help of Moves III.
