Earlier, the brigade reported that it had decided to delay the release of the second group of hostages because Israeli authorities were not abiding by the terms of the truce agreement. In particular, those related to the organization of the entry of humanitarian aid trucks into the northern area of ​​the Gaza Strip, as well as compliance with the agreed standards for the release of prisoners.

In total, according to various sources, Hamas was to release 13 or 14 hostages, including eight children. In turn, Israel planned to exchange them for 39 or 42 Palestinian detainees.
