Ferrovial has agreed to finance 23.2 million euros for the El Berrocal photovoltaic plant, located in the municipality of Gerena, in Seville, which has a total installed capacity of 49.9 megawatts (MWp). All of this, through a green loan from Banco Sabadell and Unicaja Banco, as reported by the company in a statement.

The solar plant is currently in the exploitation phase since last December 14 and is expected to generate up to 104.5 gigawatt hours (GWh) of energy per year, an amount that will supply approximately 31,900 homes during the first year. In addition, the plant will contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, avoiding the emission of up to 15,600 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2-eq) into the atmosphere.

The construction company is currently developing other 100% renewable generation projects in Spain, the United States and Poland. According to the data provided on its website, it has 50 MWp under construction, with an annual generation of 104 GWh that avoids 1.37 million tons of CO2 emissions per year.
