“His films and music have become world famous and his novels have been translated into Russian, Turkish, French, Spanish and Arabic,” reports the Kabardino-Balkaria State Radio and Television Company.

Mukhadin Kandur was born in Amman, Jordan, into a family of Circassians, who at one time were forced to leave their historical homeland and spent his youth in Europe and America. In recent years, the artist has lived with his family in the United Kingdom, in Windsor.

Kandur’s works have received numerous awards, he received the title “People’s Writer of Kabardino-Balkaria.”

Kandur was called a man of peace, as he glorified the Caucasus in his works.

In 2023, Kandur turned 85 years old; in September the artist’s anniversary was celebrated in Nalchik.
