“You can refrain from washing in case of severe frost, when water remains on the body, which freezes together with the body parts,” he noted in a comment to Gazeta.ru.

The specialist further added that the current changeable climate with thawing does not require additional measures from the vehicle owner, since the bodies of modern cars are quite well protected from moisture.

Previously, RG talked about how it is recommended to wash the body in cold winter conditions using an additional protective compound, for example, adding wax. The so-called coating wax helps to quickly remove water and dry the surface.

And of course, after washing, a competent procedure for blowing out the strands and other cavities to remove water is necessary. Be sure to dry the door seals if for some reason the car wash staff did not do so.

At the same time, you can resort to a self-service car wash, if the negative temperature is not too large, not lower than -5°C. If there is no other option, do not forget to warm the interior well and do not turn off the engine, as well as turn on the heating and air flow to maximum while washing. This will increase the chances that the hood, doors, glass and mirrors will not freeze during the washing process.
