According to him, at first even in Russia it was believed that the alliance had developed “a kind of cunning” for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Actually, everything is simpler: there was no special plan. More precisely, it was the most primitive: try to break through our defenses head on,” Saldo explained.

This is precisely how the head of the region explained the attempts of the Ukrainian army to escalate “in all directions.”

Saldo added that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his entourage see the left bank of the Dnieper as their last chance to curry favor with their Western masters.

“But nothing will work out for them. It hasn’t worked for them anymore. If they want to waste troops on a two-kilometer stretch of swamp, our military is very happy with that,” the governor stressed.

Earlier, Saldo said that Russian troops created a “hell of fire” for units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that landed in Krynki, on the left bank of the Dnieper.

According to Russian military estimates, the total losses of the Ukrainian army in this area in two or three days amounted to about a hundred soldiers. In total, when trying to cross to the left bank of the Dnieper, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost at least one and a half to two battalions.

According to Saldo, now on the entire stretch of the Left Bank from the railway bridge to Krynki there are about one and a half companies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, mostly small groups. At the same time, the average life of the Ukrainian military on the left bank of the Dnieper is just over two days.

The failure of the offensive is recognized by the Ukrainian authorities themselves. Thus, the president of the country, Vladimir Zelensky, previously said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are demonstrating insufficient results in the counteroffensive. According to him, the army’s lack of progress “is not a good sign.”

Last week, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported that the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the month exceeded 13,700 people. At the same time, at the end of October, the head of the department noted that since the start of the counteroffensive, the Ukrainian army had lost more than 90 thousand people and 600 tanks.
