As the head of the press service of the air port, Anastasia Khaustova, said, Gennady Ivanovich’s birthday is celebrated every year at the airport, but I wanted to celebrate the anniversary with something special.
One of the surprises was the admiral’s letters to the passengers, in which he told them the history of the development of the Far Eastern lands and wished them a “high flight.” The messages were delivered during flight check-in.
– This is an educational project for those who do not know Nevelsky’s contribution. After reading the letter you will be able to know what he did for our country,” said Anastasia Khaustova.
On the third floor, in the information zone dedicated to Nevelsky, a creative meeting took place with the team of the animation studio “Dream”, which is making a cartoon about the researcher. Khabarovsk students and other visitors to the airport were told about the painstaking process of creating an animated film, describing the entire process from searching for an idea to implementing the project.
The film idea was supported by the Cinema Fund. The cartoon should be released in Russian cinemas in 2025.
– As a hero of the Far East, Nevelskoy is a rather interesting character. And it would be good to present it to as many people as possible,” says the director of the animation studio Gleb Pavlenko.
Another surprise for the anniversary was a flash mob organized by the airport together with the Khabarovsk Regional Musical Theater. An excerpt from the play “The First Dance of Natasha Rostova”, based on the novel “War and Peace” by Leo Tolstoy, was presented on the ground floor of the national airlines terminal. Thus they decided to transport airport guests to the 19th century.
“The premiere of the musical took place in November. St. Petersburg director Natalya Indeikina worked on the production of the libretto. For the first time she staged this performance at the Perm Theater for Young Spectators. There our artistic director Nikita Turanov saw the project work and I wanted to transfer it to the Khabarovsk stage,” shared the head of the theatrical marketing department, Ksenia Kuznetsova.

According to her, the musical theater production turned out to be more ambitious. The musical is accompanied by an orchestra. An arrangement was written especially for it and interesting new scenes appeared. And a special pride became the costumes created according to clothing samples of that time.
– Today we recreate the spirit of this time at the airport. It is very important to stay connected to your story. Remember that code of morality that was very strong at the time when the events of the novel “War and Peace” took place and in which Admiral Nevelskoy lived, Ksenia Kuznetsova emphasized.
