A sex toy helped a chess cheater. He was inspired by rumors about Hans Niemann.

Bloggers from the UK tested whether it is possible to defeat a strong grandmaster by placing a transmitter in… a special place.

Not in vain did Hans Niemann try to sue Magnus Carlsen for $100 million, as the story that emerged in September 2022 caused enormous losses to the young chess player’s reputation. At a tournament in St. Louis, Hans unexpectedly defeated the reigning world champion from Norway and almost directly accused the American of cheating.

Thanks to Magnus, many chess fans began to consider Niemann a cheater. And it would be fine if we were just talking about deception. It’s much worse: the most popular version was that Niemann received tips through a sex toy hidden in his pants during the match with Carlsen.

Niemann was never able to make Carlsen pay:

The main scandal in world chess has been settled. Is Hans Niemann no longer a cheater?

Later, Hans directly denied having used this method more than once. A few weeks ago, he and his lawyer had to do it again on the popular Piers Morgan show on American television. But it seems that the controversial stereotype has been etched in the public’s memory for a long time.

But, hypothetically speaking, is it really possible to beat Magnus Carlsen with a sex toy? You may be surprised, but the answer is yes.

British bloggers Josh Peters and Archie Manner, who run the Josh & Archie YouTube channel (1.47 million subscribers), decided to conduct a bold experiment. Archie played against Grandmaster Daniel Fernandez using a remote controlled butt plug. Josh transmitted encrypted signals to him and tracked the best moves using a modern chess program. Even though Archie experienced obvious discomfort during the match, he managed to beat Fernández in half an hour.

After the game, the announcers told the grandmaster about their experiment and he returned to playing with Archie, who was no longer cheating. And he won in a minute, because the blogger, it must be admitted, played quite poorly without the help of a computer.

It is impossible to say that this method of cheating in chess has anything to do with Hans Niemann, but it is obvious that its use is possible in tournaments where adequate methods of protection against cheaters are not adopted (metal detectors, delayed retransmissions of the games). .

Archie received recommendations from Josh on every move, but a more or less strong chess player does not need this. It is enough to receive advice on two or three moves in the most difficult situations. And if a chess player grimaces and fidgets in his chair two or three times during a game, this will not arouse any suspicion. Chess players sometimes make all kinds of faces!

Cheaters in chess, as well as in life in general, are very inventive and sometimes capable of taking desperate actions to achieve their goals. Well, those who fight against deceivers now need to come up with new methods. Not all chess players can be asked to undress before a game.
