The Federal Highway Police in Santa Catarina (PRF-SC) confirmed the existence of failures in the radars installed in the southern stretch of BR-101, affecting the identification of the type of vehicle and the severity of the percentage of speeding. The verification of the failures was made by the PRF-SC, which promptly took measures to resolve the issue.

Adriano Fiamoncini, representative of the PRF-SC, declared: “Some failures were found in identifying the type of vehicle and in the severity of the percentage of excess speed.” The accuracy of radars is essential to ensure road safety and the correct application of fines, avoiding mistakes that could affect drivers.

Faced with this situation, the PRF-SC acted proactively and requested the support of the technical area of the PRF in Brasília. The aim is to cancel all notifications that were generated with errors in identification and speed measurement. This means that drivers who received wrong notifications will not be penalized with undue fines.
