A number of women ministers from the Indonesia Onward Cabinet walked down the 200-meter catwalk during the Berkebaya Palace event which was held on the road in front of the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Sunday, August 6, 2023. From Tempo’s monitoring, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi led a group of women ministers walking on the runway.
Retno Marsudi was seen wearing a white top kebaya with red bottoms. She teamed the suit with a red scarf and carried a none umbrella or a flower patterned paper umbrella. Right behind Retno, followed by Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani then Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, I Gusti Ayu Bintang, and Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah. Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Angela Tanoesoedibjo, was also seen in the last row. They wore kebaya that matched Retno’s.
Also present were the wives of the ministers who were members of OASE KIM, who also walked on the catwalk wearing kebaya. Then the female ambassador and the ambassador’s wife also enlivened the event.
The celebration to welcome the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia was even redder when the Miss Indonesia finalists joined in to celebrate it. DKI Jakarta Provincial Government employees and ASN also demonstrated their clothes at the event.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono said the Berkebaya Palace event was one of a series of events to welcome the 78th Indonesian Independence Day on August 17. Apart from the Berkebaya Palace, Heru said that his party was also holding a National Remembrance and Prayer for the 78th Year of Indonesia Merdeka on the Merdeka Palace grounds.

On Saturday, the State Palace also held the world’s largest angklung game performance which was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK). The event, which was held by the Maju Indonesia Cabinet OASE, was attended by 15,110 angklung players and was recorded in the Guinness World of Records (GWR). “I congratulate OASE ladies for breaking the Guinness World Records for the biggest angklung performance. Today we continue with the same enthusiasm,” said Heru.
Heru said the Berkebaya Palace was jointly organized by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta and the Ministry of State Secretariat. This event was also attended by President Jokowi and his wife, Iriana Jokowi and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin. PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo, Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md, TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi, and Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto was also present at the Berkebaya Palace event.
