The wreckage of the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was found about 16 hours after the crash. However, none of President Raisi, the country’s foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and the governor of East Azerbaijan, Malek Rahmati, are alive.

According to international media reports, the helicopter carrying the president of Iran was completely burnt after the accident.

According to Iran’s state media IRNA, after the accident, there are no signs of survival of President Raisi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, on Sunday (May 19), the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi crashed in Jolfa, an area bordering Azerbaijan. It is known that the country’s foreign minister and the governor of East Azerbaijan were with the president in that helicopter. They were returning from inaugurating a reservoir project in Azerbaijan, bordering Iran.

Iran’s president has been missing since the crash. The rescuers went to the field to rescue them. However, due to thick fog, rain and hilly terrain, the rescue operation was hampered. The President announced that Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iraq would send rescue teams to rescue Raisi.
