The second prize of the 2023 Christmas Lottery Draw has been a long time coming this Thursday, December 22. The number 58303 was announced at 1:03 p.m. and was finally awarded the second prize, with 125,000 euros for the tenth prize. This is a prize widely distributed throughout Spain, mainly in La Coruña and O Grove (Pontevedra).

How much money does the second prize distribute?

The die has already been cast for the second prize and the winners in this Extraordinary Christmas Lottery 2022 draw will be able to collect 6,250 euros for each euro played. This Thursday’s second most searched number will also reward those who look alike but only change the last number. In the case of having the second number by approximation, one more or one less, the prize is 62.50 euros for each euro played. Nor should we get rid of the tenth if we verify that the last two figures of our number played are equal to those of the second prize because in this case it is awarded five euros for each euro played (100 euros for the tenth). If the first three figures match, the prize is 100 euros for each tenth.

How much money is left in the Treasury from the second prize?

The rule established by the Tax Agency is the same as last year. All winners of a prize less than 40,000 euros will not have to pay taxes to the Treasury. And the lucky ones who get a higher prize will have to pay 20% to the Treasury. The second prize will be taxed at 85,000 euros, on which 20% will be taxed. That is, the winner keeps 108,000 euros and the Treasury with 17,000 euros.

When and where the second prize can be collected

The prizes awarded with less than 2,500 euros can be collected from today at any point of sale in the lottery network, while for higher prizes you must go to one of the collaborating banking entities such as BBVA, Santander, CaixaBank and CECA. In the case of tickets in poor condition or deteriorated, they should never be reconstructed, but rather they must be sent to the State Lottery and Betting Society, which will determine whether or not the prize can be collected. Finally, it must be taken into account that the prizes expire three months from the date of the draw.
