The extraordinary Christmas Lottery draw is coming to an end. Waiting for El Gordo on the streets of Spain, at the doors of the Lottery administrations there are already winners of other prizes. The time has come to know what to do if we have a winning ticket and this is what they recommend from State Lotteries and Betting.

What do you have to do to collect a prize?

Although it may seem obvious, it is essential to present the winning tenth or receipt in order to collect a Christmas Lottery prize.

When can prizes be collected?

On the afternoon of December 22, when both the verifications of the numbers drawn and the computer processes are completed, the prizes will begin to be awarded, as usual.

Where can prizes be collected?

If the prizes are less than 2,000 euros for each tenth or receipt, they can be collected exclusively at one of the 10,902 points of sale of the Lottery commercial network, starting today afternoon, December 22. In this case, the prize can be collected in cash or through the Bizum system, since Lottery points of sale were the first physical businesses in Spain to incorporate this system as a method of payment for your bets and collection of your minor prizes.

If the prizes accumulate an amount equal to or greater than 2,000 euros, they will be collected at the authorized financial entities: BBVA and Caixabank. In the case of tickets purchased on the official online channel (www.loteriasyapuestas.es), the jackpot prizes are paid by bank transfer to the bank account communicated by the player in their Gaming account, once the account number is verified after the lottery. Minor prizes will be paid directly into the gaming account as long as it does not exceed the established limits, in which case they will also be paid by bank transfer to the current account that has been communicated.

Until when can prizes be collected? Do prizes expire?

Until March 22, 2024, since the right to collect Christmas Lottery prizes expires after three months, counting from the day following the day the draw is held.

What happens if a tenth or receipt is damaged?

If the winning tenth or receipt is damaged, the client must go to a Lottery point of sale, complete the “Prize Payment Request” form, sign it and provide the damaged tenth or receipt, which will be sent to Lotteries for authentication.

If a tenth is shared with several loved ones, how is it collected?

If the tenth is shared, all participants must be identified when collecting prizes equal to or greater than 2,000 euros at financial institutions. If they have stolen a tenth, what should be done? If the tenth has been stolen, it is advisable to file a report with the competent authorities. If said tenth is awarded, the client can appear in court with the complaint so that the process can begin.
