The presenter was the famous bassist Ildar Abdrazakov together with his wife Marika. He not only supported the contestants, but also had a significant influence on the opinions of the jury members. As a result, the three finalists of the competition were two Helikon soloists: sopranos Elizaveta Kulagina and Sofya Tsygankova, as well as baritone from Kazakhstan Dinmukhamed Koshkinbaev. The main prize went to a graduate of the Astana International Opera Academy, for whom this is not the first competitive success. The young performer is a finalist at the Eva Marton International Vocal Competition in Hungary, and in November the singer’s collection of victories was complemented by another prestigious award – bronze at the Opera Crown Tbilisi International Competition.

At the concert at the conservatory, the three finalists will be joined by other participants of the “Bolshoi Opera 2023”: Irina Mulyarchik (soprano, Belarus); Rishat Reshitov (baritone, Uzbekistan); Konstantin Fedotov (bass, Russia), for whom this festive New Year’s Eve evening will be a tough test: singing live, in front of an audience, is not at all the same as singing in front of a microphone and in front of a television camera. On television, the candidates for victory appeared before an audience of millions of people in exotic costumes and striking images with the support not only of the Kremlin Orchestra of the Office of the President of Russia and its chief conductor Konstantin Chudovsky, but also of the sound engineers, who always tried to ensure that the contestants’ votes were cast in the most advantageous way possible.

It is expected that the winners of the fourth (2016) and sixth (2019) seasons, Ksenia Nesterenko and Anna Shapovalova, as well as the participants of the “Bolshoi Opera” from previous years: Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Daria Terekhova, Sergei Ababkin, Vladimir Dmitruk In Stanislav Li will also participate in the concert. The singers will perform accompanied by the Moscow Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Tatarnikov. Not only opera music will be played, but also fragments of operettas, zarzuelas and Neapolitan songs. The gala concert will be presented by Marika Abdrazakova and Nikolai Tsiskaridze. And on December 23 at 8:10 p.m., “Russia-Culture” will screen a television version of the gala concert of the “Bolshoi Opera” at the Moscow Conservatory.
