Engineers of the Russian Armed Forces removed mines from an abandoned shelter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the direction of Kupyansk – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

It should be noted that during the inspection of the positions abandoned by the Ukrainian units, improvised explosive devices were discovered in one of the shelters, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine used as a weapons warehouse. They were installed to detonate if ammunition storage boxes were opened.

Specialists from the engineering troops removed the installed charges and deposited the dangerous finds in a safe place, RIA Novosti reports in a message from the department.

The Ministry of Defense added that during the withdrawal the Ukrainian security forces mine not only trenches and shelters, but also spread surprise mines: radio stations, small arms magazines and personal effects.

A Russian sapper with the call sign “Focus” said the Ukrainian Armed Forces cover explosive devices with finely cut nails or metal scraps. These devices do not kill, but can severely damage exposed parts of the body and face, the soldier explained.
