The OMV noted that they are now considering the Russian leader’s decree and can take “further measures to protect their rights.” At the same time, the company recalled the decision not to make further investments in the Russian Federation and to review its share in the Yuzhno-Russkoye field (24.99 percent), including the possibility of sale and exit.

Previously, the German company WIntershall stated that it was also analyzing the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation.

Shares of OMV and Wintershall in joint ventures with Gazprom are transferred to the management of Russian owners; Vladimir Putin previously signed the corresponding decree. Wintershall participated in the development of gas reserves in the Urengoy field and in the development of the Yuzhno-Russkoye field, where the Austrian company also worked. The new owner of the former foreign stake in the Urengoy field will be the Gas Technologies company, and in the Yuzhno-Russkoye field – SOGAZ.
