Last Sunday, another jump by a Japanese tourist ended tragically. A 56-year-old man jumped from China’s highest bungee jumping site, the Macau Tower in Hong Kong.

Everything seemed to end well: the old jumper, after taking a leap, descended from the tower, but he was out of breath. The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where his heart stopped. It was not possible to save the jumper. Although the doctors did not find any injuries on his body.

The platform from which tourists jump in Macau is located at an altitude of 233 meters. The cost of one jump is $360. This is the second highest platform in the world. In first place is the Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado, USA, with a height of 321 meters.

Experts say bungee jumping statistics suggest one death for every 500,000 jumps.
