The coach faces a long disqualification.

The match between Akhmat and Spartak on matchday 17 of the RPL initially promised to be intense, but in the end it exceeded all expectations. And not only in football terms.

The most scandalous moment of the match came in the 34th minute. Bernard Berisha gave a masterful assist: the Swede gave Hamid Agalarov a long pass. The forward jumped one by one and managed to push the ball so that Alexander Selikhov could not cope. Srdjan Babic also had no time to remove him from the tape.

And then the heat began. Berisha ran to celebrate the goal not to Agalarov, but in the opposite direction: to the Spartak bench. The Akhmat footballer made a gesture to Guillermo Abascal and jumped with both feet next to him. The Spartak coach went crazy, grabbed the player from behind and threw him to the ground.

Berisha quickly stood up and ran out to celebrate in front of the fans, and a crowd formed around Abascal to prevent a possible fight. The main referee Evgeniy Kukulyak quickly realized: yellow card for Berisha, red card for Abascal.

The Spartak coach did not leave immediately: first he argued with the substitute referee, pointing out Berisha’s provocation, and then tried to draw attention to the bottle that flew onto the field from the stands. But the judges were not impressed by these attempts.

Our expert, former RPL referee Igor Fedotov, analyzed the moment. He agrees with Kukulyak’s decision.

former RPL referee

“This is a direct red card, and Abascal faces up to six games of disqualification for direct physical impact on a match participant, on an opponent. “And the fact that Berisha ran into the stands, that this was a provocation, is a yellow card.”

But the scandals did not end there. Spartak recovered at the end of the first half and after the half-time whistle there was a skirmish between Quincy Promes and Miroslav Bogosavets. On the way to the stands, the Spartak striker cursed his opponent in two languages at once: “Who are you? I am the best football player in *** (in Fig. – Note “Championship”)! I’ll fuck you (I’ll fuck you. – Note “Championship”)!”

The heated conversation between the Spartak and Akhmat players continued in the stands. For some time, the players stood in a dense crowd, talking loudly, after which they finally dispersed towards the locker rooms.

It looks like the KDK (RFU Control and Disciplinary Committee) will have a lot of work to do after this round. However, was it really different?
