In Belgorod, the director of a cement factory was arrested on suspicion of corruption – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Let us remember that complaints about the cement plant works began in summer and continued to arrive until the end of autumn. Belgorod residents living in the company area and those working there saw a gray coating on windows, balconies and cars. The strange dust settled quickly and daily. In response to the complaints, the company’s management assured that the source of this dust was not the cement plant: the plant’s filters were working correctly, otherwise the production process would have stopped.

Now, as reported by the press service of the FSB Directorate for the Belgorod region, the inspection revealed 29 violations in the operation of the plant. After this, the director of the company, in order to reduce the penalties, tried to give a bribe of 500 thousand rubles to an employee of Rosprirodnadzor, but was detained.

The Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the region noted that the suspect actively cooperates with the investigation, so a petition has been prepared for the court to select a preventive measure for him in the form of house arrest.
