A book with stories of a musk deer girl about local plants was published in Khabarovsk – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The stories about the lives of the characters are accompanied by brilliant illustrations. The drawings were created by the author of the project, the famous Far Eastern artist Yana Jan-Sha.

– In the book I decided to share with readers what I know about the plants of our region. About its uniqueness, vulnerability, benefits and beauty. And as the story began to take shape, it became clear that my knowledge alone was not enough. And we came up with the idea that every book plant has a prototype in the human world, an expert in living nature,” says Yana Dzhan-Sha.

A whole team worked on the publication: 10 experts, an editor, a designer, who is also a programmer, a photographer, a costume designer, as well as the author of the text, Alla Jan-Sha, the mother of the illustrator Yana. . The publication of this book, according to her, was possible thanks to the financial support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.

– It all started when I helped Yana fill out a grant application. During the discussion of the idea, I quietly became involved in the process. And he offered his services to the team to create an original text. We came up with the story together, but it was up to me to write it in literary language,” says Alla Jan-Sha.

The new book will replenish library collections and reach schools and tourist centers. You can also read it online. This version is complemented with interactive tasks and prizes. In a special comment form, interested parties will be able to offer their “legends about the girl with the musk deer.” The most interesting ones will be included in the next part of the book.
