Baltika and Lokomotiv tied in the first match of the Russian Cup quarterfinals – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The meeting took place on Tuesday in Kaliningrad. Lokomotiv came into the match without striker Artem Dzyuba, who was forced to stay in Moscow due to health problems.

In the first half, the visitors opened the scoring in the 16th minute after a precise shot by Timur Suleymanov. The teams could not carry out more effective actions before the half-time whistle.

Baltika restored equality in the 65th minute. The goal was scored by Tigran Avanesyan. And five minutes later, the Kaliningraders took the lead after an accurate shot by Nathan Gassam.

Lokomotiv managed to escape defeat in added time. Suleymanov scored a double (2:2). The second leg will take place in March 2024.
