Uber launches its Uber Rent service in Spain, which allows its customers to reserve a rental car in 116 Spanish cities in the 17 autonomous communities, as announced this Tuesday and reported by Europa Press. The platform sees this new feature as a solution that makes renting a car more “easy, comfortable and affordable.”

Uber Rent allows users to reserve the car that best suits the specific needs of their trip, with hundreds of vehicles available for rental from companies such as Europcar, Hertz, Avis, Sixt, OK Mobility or Budget.

Through Uber’s own application, using its CarTrawler technology, it recommends the user the best options according to their location and destination. It also includes a price comparison, vehicle size and previous reviews from other users.

The company offers, as a promotion, 10 euros in Uber credit redeemable for VTC services in each of the first three reservations made through this new service. The director of Uber in Spain and Portugal, Felipe Fernández Aramburu, highlights that with Uber Rent, the company presents a “new alternative” for mobility, which will allow “thousands of people” to reach their destination daily.

Uber Rent is the first service launched by Uber with activity in all the autonomous communities of the Spanish territory and, as detailed, it reaches new regions such as Galicia, Asturias, Navarra, Cantabria or Extremadura, in addition to the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla.

To use it, the company has highlighted that you must first update the Uber ‘app’ to the latest available version, and then select ‘rental vehicles’; enter the pick-up and drop-off address, start and end date and time of the reservation; Click on ‘find vehicles’ and, finally, select the car and confirm the reservation.
