The fairy tale “Commanding the Pike” grossed more than 2.232 million rubles at the Russian box office (as of the morning of November 27). This makes it the highest-grossing Russian film of all those released in 2023. (“Cheburashka”, of course, grossed seven billion in Russia and the CIS, but its screenings began in December 2022, so, strictly speaking , is not on the list of films for 2023).

But “At the Behest of the Pike” surpassed “Challenge”, which has 2,159,205,914 rubles on its account in Russia and the CIS. However, the film about Yulia Peresild’s flight into space was intended for an older audience and could not boast of the presence of a talking cat (and it has long been noted that talking animals act on our viewers like a magnet: films with his participation are very popular).

According to the results of the weekend of November 24-26, it still occupies first place in the list of highest-grossing films. If it “survives” at the box office until the New Year holidays (and it will), it will be able to expand there too, attracting more and more schoolchildren and their parents to the cinemas.
