“The roads are now completely clear of felled trees due to heavy rains and strong winds,” the Sochi head wrote on his Telegram channel. “There are no injuries. Rail service has been restored, the airport is operating as instructed. The weather is real.”

According to the mayor, everything necessary has been done so that the complex receives him in the morning with its usual calm rhythm.

The day before in Sochi, due to the inclemency of the elements, about 30 trees were felled, and due to the fall of trees on the contact line of the railway tracks on the Lazarevskoye – Loo, Loo – Dagomys sections, there was a delay in the movement of passenger trains. Russian Railways repair and restoration teams were immediately sent to the scene of the emergency.

Additionally, on Sunday afternoon, nine planes flying to Sochi were diverted to an alternative airfield in Mineralnye Vody due to bad weather.
